Isaiah 41:10

Courage
"Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness."
— Isaiah 41:10 (KJV)

What Does Isaiah 41:10 Mean?

If anxiety had a nemesis, it would be this verse. God is essentially saying: stop being afraid, because I'm right here. Don't be overwhelmed, because I'm your God. And then He piles on three promises in a row — I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will hold you up. It's like He knew we'd need to hear it more than once.

What stands out is how personal this is. It's not "I will strengthen the world" — it's "I will strengthen thee." God is speaking directly to you, individually, in the middle of whatever has you scared or discouraged. He's not distant or distracted. He's present and He's paying attention.

The image of being upheld by "the right hand of my righteousness" is powerful too. The right hand in ancient culture represented strength and authority. So God isn't holding you up with a weak grip — He's got you with His strongest hand. Whatever you're facing, you're not facing it alone, and you're not going to fall.

Context

God spoke these words through the prophet Isaiah to the nation of Israel during a time when they feared conquest by surrounding empires, reassuring them of His protective presence.
